How to Achieve Back Pain Relief through Emotional Healing

Although our emotions have a big impact on the health and well-being of our bodies, this aspect of healing and pain relief is often overlooked by most people.

If you’re one of those people who have tried everything when it comes to neck and back pain relief, perhaps it’s time to examine how the emotional side of your life may be contributing to your neck and back pain.

Successful back pain relief and neck pain relief comes from a multi-faceted approach to getting rid of pain – completely. The pain must be targeted from a physical, nutritional, and emotional standpoint. Each piece of the puzzle has to be solved in order to achieve the full and complete neck and back pain relief you seek.

For instance, there are many factors in your life that may be contributing to the emotional pain in the body that eventually manifests itself in a physical ailment or discomfort.

Today most people lead highly stressful lives – they are constantly worried, anxious, and unhappy. Trauma is another emotional aspect that can lead to physical manifestations of pain.

In many cases, eliminating these stresses and fixing the emotional trauma you’re experiencing can eliminate the pain. Depending on the situation, it’s even possible to eliminate physical pain in as little as 7 minutes if you use the right emotional release technique!

So how exactly is emotional pain connected to neck and back pain?

To put it simply, when we are confronted with stress and trauma in our daily lives physical pain often occurs as a result. Physical symptoms may include headaches, stomachaches, chest pain, neck pain, and back pain. In many cases the pain can be almost debilitating.

As researchers begin to take notice, it’s becoming clear that the emotions are interconnected with the physical body and it makes sense when you think about it. Here’s an easy example – when people become overly stressed blood pressure goes up.

When I was a child, every time my father would get stressed about work, he would experience excruciating lower back pain.  And he’s definitely not alone as countless other people may experience neck pain and lower, middle, and/or upper back pain with the onslaught of stress.

Still find it hard to believe?

Researchers are now discovering the link between a person’s psychological outlook and back pain. A ScienceDaily report from 2006 summarized recent scientific findings that found psychological treatments to be effective at improving the results of back pain sufferers. It was found that psychological treatment actually reduced the intensity of the pain, not just the patient’s ability to deal with it.

The Stanford University Medical Center reported in May 2004 that researchers discovered psychological factors might be the root cause of back pain.

Scientists found that “Most adults in the United States will experience disabling lower back pain at least once in their lives, but their doctors frequently can’t find a specific physical cause. In a four-year investigation that followed patients who initially had no lower back pain, researchers studied their subjects’ spines using both disc injection and magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI. And they also got to know their research subjects through psychological evaluations. It turned out that psychological factors more accurately predicted who would develop lower back pain than the two diagnostic techniques.

Unfortunately, it can sometimes be a difficult process to figure out the emotional basis for physical pain because it’s different for everyone. Your conscious mind doesn’t easily recognize the link between your emotional state and the physical problems you’re experiencing.

So if you’re suffering from physical pain and can’t seem to find a solution to your problem, it may be time to consider approaching the prospect of healing from a different perspective and take a look at some of the emotional reasons for your pain.
