The Feldenkrais Method

Many people have realized that simply ingesting pain relief pills or applying pain killing creams are not truly effective
at treating their back pain and the other aches in their bodies. This is because they know that they are only providing temporary relief from the inflammation but are not addressing the main causes of the pain.
One of the things that people have also found out about back pain is that it is caused not just by a strenuous physical activity, such as sports, but also by the regular movements that they do during their day to day activities. They now understand that sitting down in front of a desk staring at a computer monitor, or doing heavy lifting without the proper posture, can strain their bodies and make them feel back pain.
The combination of these realizations has led many to start searching for treatments that would not only provide pain relief, but would actually help prevent the back pain from happening. They would want a treatment that would enable them to perform their regular activities, without having to feel any pain. One of the treatments that aims to address this is the Feldenkrais Method.
Through various techniques, they hope that people who undergo lessons on the Feldenkrais method would be able to refine their movements in order to avoid further strain on their bodies.

As such, it may be better suited for people who have just recovered from back pain and want to avoid having to feel it again, instead of people who are still currently suffering from the condition.
A trained practitioner uses his or her hands to guide the movement of a single client, who may be sitting, lying or standing. Through this hands-on approach, the client should learn how to eliminate excess effort and thus move more freely and easily.
